Wierd dreams lately. Started just before I went to GNW. Vivid, and I remember them pretty well after waking. I rarely remmeber my dreams, so not sure why.

Constructed Mk1 and mk2 quiver. Mk 1 is a bi tight for a dozen arrows, but fine for 1/2 dozen. Mk2 meets all of my functional requirements, if not the aesthetic ones, which probably means I'll be using it for the next 10 years. Should paint arms on it at some point, but I can tick another thing off my "do before CF next year" list.

|Tuesday, September 13th, 2011|
Tested new gambeson on Sunday.
Will need to modify my arm harness slightly, but it worked really well, and I didn't overheat with all the extra padding.

Back home, back at work. Had enormous fun, happy to be home.
|Wednesday, August 24th, 2011|
We spent yesterday roaming Edinburgh - the castle, Holyrood House, The cathedral, national museum of Scotland.
Today was castles and dinner for Duncan's birthday.
I like Dirleton. I wants one.
Tomorrow we fly home. I'm sad this adventure is ending, but also looking forward to being in my own space and seeing my friends.

|Edinburg day 1
Stirling Castle was awesome! Went to medieval market and bought new gambeson, which was unplanned, but it fitted me really well, and was cheap. They had a size that was too big for me!
Saw Falkirk Wheel and roman fort.
|Saturday, August 20th, 2011|
Yesterday - Bovington Tank Museum. Saw a Leopard and a Cheiftan that still worked, and many cool displays. Panzer II's are a lot smaller than I thought they were, current MBT's huge by comparison.
Today - been to Warick Castle. Taking a break before we pop over to Stratford on Avon for a walk around.

|London day 5
Went to Imperial War Museum, Museum of London. Both good. Saw shoes I have made replicas of - two piece upper one has a stich on the optside over trhe point of the toe. Nice to see my work measures up the the original. Was not allowed to handle originals.
Frustrated with sore feet and the universe in general I use dmy all day pass to go over to Soho for some late night shoe shoping. Has replacement docs and new sneakers. World is better now.

Walked round Westminster. Nelsons column, Wellington's arch, Westminster abbey, 10 Downing st (st is permanently inaccessable) Buckingham Palace (no guard change today) Big Ben. Saw some ceremonial cavalry doing mysterious riding about things. Off to meet up with a corpie in a bit for a beer at a 500 year old pub.

|London, day 1
Drizzly day, no reports of rioting last night.
Went to The Temple, which was closed for renovations (not advertised on their website grrr.)
St Pauls - very cool, bloody ginormous. Visited the college of Heralds. Not a lot to see, but still.
Tower of London - really, really cool. The chapel in the white tower is amazing. Crown jewels also amazing. Royal armory also very cool.
Came back to Hotel via Orcs nest (small, disappointing. Not the religious experience I was expecting. Still, have completed the pilgrimage) and forbidden Planet (obtained Roadside Picnic). Located British museum.
Feet about to fall off. Plans for the evening involve sitting here on my laptop, and moving 20 feet to the bar for dinner and beer.
|Tuesday, August 9th, 2011|
A little worried about the rioting in London - we fly there tomorrow.
It seems to be well away from where our hotel is fortunately.
May be spending our evenings indoors.
Spent the day in Tallinn, in Estonia. I saw a tower that was built 800 years ago. 14thc houses still being lived in. I could clamber throught the towers and along the walls that were still intact. There was a cafe in the towers and along the wall of a bit of intact wall. The bits where more modern buildings had been built around and incorporating medieval walls/towers were just cool
